Holiday with the fur kids

A working dog at Lappi Farm

There's nothing quite like bringing the whole family on holiday, fur kids included! Lappi Farm is a pet-friendly destination, and honestly, I think the dogs that come and stay often have a better time than everyone else.

We love our animals, and our own dogs are sure to greet you on arrival. So yes, dogs are definitely welcome at the cabins. Just let us know they're coming when you book; there's a one-off pet fee of $50. Dogs do of course need to be under control at all times, as they often react unexpectedly around farm animals or kangaroos they may never have seen before.

We've been pet friendly for a long time, but there's always been one problem. Kosciuszko National Park, a huge local attraction year-round, doesn't allow dogs. So it was always a bit tough for our guests to juggle bringing their best mate with exploring the national park, heading out for a nice dinner, or any of the other outings where dogs can't come along. Unfortunately that meant a lot of dogs were left at home, so we thought: let's fix it.

The secure day kennels at Lappi Farm

Secure day kennels

To make Lappi Farm an even better experience, Brendan dusted off his fabrication skills and built a bank of five secure day kennels that guests can book. Each kennel is 2 × 3 m, with an enclosed area holding a trampoline bed and a water trough, so they'll never run out of water or knock their bowl over. The sand-covered mesh floor feels like natural ground, and the "wanna be a wombat" dogs can't dig their way out.

The kennels are $20 per day, 7am–7pm, and can be added when you book. We recommend bringing your mate's favourite toys to keep them entertained while they chill out in their own little luxe accommodation.

Looking forward to meeting you and your fur buddies!
