Our story

The original Scandi tiny home

In the 1980s a Finnish family hand-built five solid cedar cabins on this ridge. The hills reminded them of Lapland, so they called it Lappi, and placed every cabin for privacy and an uninterrupted view of the Snowy River and the Monaro Plains.

More than 40 years on, each cabin is still a true mökki: the little summer cottage where Finnish families go to slow down and reconnect with nature. Campfires, wide skies, wombats at dusk and platypus in the river below.

An AWD or 4WD vehicle is required

You'll need at least 180 mm of ground clearance for the rough roads and the causeway crossing on the way in. Please don't rely on GPS: we send every guest written directions and a video of the drive. Read the access FAQ
